My first blog, "The Trigonometry Tragic"

One fine day, I stepped into my grade 9, which was good until I received my Textbooks from my management. I had 7 subjects in total.

  1. English
  2. Tamil
  3. Science
  4. Social Studies
  5. Mathematics
  6. Hindi
  7. Computer Science

Everything was fabulous till I opened my Mathematics book, Ohhh Goddddd!!!

The scariest topic that my seniors said... TRIGONOMETRY

My brain started to see things in other ways, everything was new. All of a sudden addition, subtraction, multiplication & division changed into Sine, Cosine, Tangent, Secant, Cosecant & Cotangent.

This topic is very simple actually, the problem was my teacher for sure. The cherry on the top of the cake in my life is my Mom who is also a MATHEMATICS teacher. The way she taught me trigonometry was very awesome.

This is purely about a right-angled triangle. We should ešŸ‘»ither calculate the 1 side when 2 sides are given or find 1 angle when  2 angles are given.

The next common doubt we get as a student in our life is, where do we use all this algebra, and trigonometry in our day-to-day life??

That was also easily explained by my Mom, that year was the Chennai metro project work started and most of the engineers stood with a tripod on the road. She clearly explained to me the use and the lens fixed to that tripod is where they measure the angle and for the perfect angle of elevation formed and that is one major use of the topic.

That day I decided to learn things with its day-to-day uses.
